The first petition called on the government to abandon its job-killing Carbon Tax. The second petition was on behalf of Canadians who suffer from thyroid disease and need to take specific medication to regulate their thyroid. Why thyroid science is important to a thyroid patients campaign
Okay it’s time once again to rally the troops of my dear fellow thyroid patients … and to rant and rage at the things we’re fighting against. I’ve been pondering things lately. Here’s where I’ll start, with what really gets under my skin. WE’RE MOCKED. WE’RE SCOLDED. In the doctor’s office we as thyroid patients are routinely diminished, scolded, mocked, and dismissed for our symptoms, and we are told not to overstep our role as patients. I have been given this attitude too many times. Early on in my thyroid journey, I was even accused of “harassment” of my doctor …

Thyroid Patients called out in 2018, “Optimize our therapy.” We climbed uphill despite fatigue, hearts full of hope. History has twisted biology, making TSH a tyrant and forcing T4 to work alone. But TSH and T4 are servants of the Queen of All Thyroid Hormones, mighty T3.

On New Year’s, let’s reflect on all our accomplishments this year with the petition and our social media. I offer two thoughts to boost our spirits for the journey ahead. You and me, as individual patients, are not alone in this struggle for better thyroid therapy. Patients who are currently doing well on thyroid therapy are trying to change the system to help those who are suffering.
